A HISTORY OF PIONEERING VANE SEPARATION TECHNOLOGY

Ed W. Smith Machine Works was founded in 1939 and has applied its considerable machining and fabrication capabilities to a broad range of engineered systems in many industries.

• By 1950 E-W-S had become involved in the collaborative development of vane elements for 2-phase gas/liquid process separator applications, and in 1953 the E-W-S vane mist extractor was patented.

• Since the 1950s E-W-S has engineered, fabricated and packaged process separation equipment capitalizing on our in-house expertise and proprietary vane mist extractor designs.

• E-W-S separation equipment has found broad acceptance with thousands of units in service in the oil & gas process sector, with numerous separator solutions applied to other industries as well.

• Today E-W-S continues to offer our proven proprietary vane mist extractor designs, and the focused engineering support to enable our clients to build their own separators with state of the art vane mist extractor internals.
